Search
Google does not owe you traffic. It owes the searcher a shop that exists.
For a café, salon, or plumber, “SEO” is not a 3,000-word blog. It is a title that matches the sign, an address a map can use, hours that are true, and a page that loads on a phone.
Put these on the one page
- Title tag — business name + city or neighborhood. Bean & Bloom uses the café name, not “Home.”
- H1 — the same name a person would say out loud.
- NAP — name, address, phone, written the same way as your Google Business Profile. Do not invent a suite number.
- Hours — including the day you are closed.
- What you sell — a list, not a mood board only. See the Bean & Bloom walkthrough.
- A maps link —
https://maps.google.com/?q=plus the street. Sitecraft asks for this in the brief.
Off the page, still required
Claim Google Business Profile. Hours and phone there must match the website. A mismatch is how you look closed on a Saturday you are open.
What not to do
Ten thin “best plumber in [city]” URLs. Keyword stuffing the footer. Buying links. A blog you will not write. One honest page plus a claimed map listing beats that pile.
Sitecraft’s essence questions exist so the preview has this copy before you ever think about plugins.
